Investigations Division

Major Paul Knight has dedicated more than two decades of service to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, building a career marked by leadership, investigative expertise, and specialized tactical experience.

He began his law enforcement career on July 1, 2000, as a deputy assigned to the Ouachita Correctional Center. In May 2001, he transferred to the Uniform Patrol Division, where he was promoted to Corporal and Field Training Officer in 2003. The following year, he was selected to serve on the Special Crimes Apprehension Team.

On July 1, 2008, Major Knight transferred to the Metro Narcotics Unit, where he was promoted to Sergeant. He served in narcotics enforcement until April 1, 2016, when Sheriff Jay Russell promoted him to Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigations Division. On February 8, 2021, he advanced to the rank of Captain in CID.

In July 2026, Major Knight was promoted to Major of Investigations under Sheriff Marc Mashaw, where he continues to lead investigative operations with professionalism, dedication, and a commitment to public safety. He also played a key role in the development and organization of the North Louisiana Sheriff’s Investigative Unit and continues to serve as an active member.

Major Knight served on the OPSO SWAT Team from 2003 to 2011, further expanding his tactical and operational experience.

He is a graduate of the 73rd Session of the North Delta Regional Training Academy.

Captain Everett Holloway began a career in law enforcement during the summer of 1999 with the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office. During that time, Captain Holloway served in several critical operational roles, including jailer, booking officer, and dispatcher, gaining valuable experience in detention operations, and communications.

On June 5, 2002, Captain Holloway joined the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office and was assigned to the Courthouse Security Division. On February 26, 2007, He transferred to the Patrol Division, where he was promoted to Corporal and Field Training Officer in 2011. On June 1, 2014, Captain Holloway was selected for assignment to the Investigations Division, where he continued to gain knowledge and experience in complex investigations.

He was promoted to Sergeant in the Investigations Division on May 27, 2021. On February 29, 2024, Captain Holloway was promoted to Lieutenant, assuming expanded supervisory responsibilities. On July 6, 2026, Captain Holloway was promoted to the rank of Captain in the Investigations Division, providing leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for investigative operations.

Captain Holloway is a graduate of the 73rd session of the North Delta Regional Training Academy and has dedicated more than 27 years to law enforcement.
