West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce OPSO Deputy of the Year
Corporal Craig Meredith, a 13 year veteran of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, has been selected by the West Monroe Chamber of Commerce for the Deputy of the Year award. The award was presented to Cpl. Meredith at the Chamber Banquet Tuesday evening, December 5th. Cpl. Meredith began his career at OPSO in 2004 in the Corrections Division. He transferred to the Patrol Division in 2007 where he is currently assigned, responsible for training new patrol deputies. Cpl. Meredith is a past member of the OPSO SCAT unit and currently serves on SWAT. He has received several letters of commendation during his career. Recently, he responded to an injured person call in West Monroe where the victim was choking due to a blocked airway. He is credited with saving the victims life by clearing the airway and administering aid until medical personnel arrived. “We are proud of Cpl. Meredith for his professionalism and commitment to the residents of Ouachita Parish” said Sheriff Russell.
