West Monroe Moose 1723 Donates Tommy Moose Stuffed Animals to OPSO
Earlier this evening, the West Monroe Moose Lodge 1723 donated Tommy Moose stuffed animals to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office and two other local agencies. The stuffed animals are donated each year to First Responders and other agencies that often face situations where a child has experienced a traumatic event. This year the toy animals were donated to OPSO, the Ouachita Parish Fire Department and the Ronald McDonald House.
Deputies often respond to situations where children need help coping with a traumatic event that has occurred in their young lives.
Deputies in the Patrol and Investigative Divisions keep the dolls in their units to give to children they encounter in these situations as an attempt to help them cope with the trauma they have experienced. The gift of the stuffed animal to the child often helps comfort the child and builds a trust between them and the Deputy. We appreciate the donation and the continued support of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office by the West Monroe Moose Lodge 1723.
