Two Juveniles Arrested in Bomb Threat Investigation

PressReleaseOuachita Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a threat of an explosive device at West Ouachita High School at 12:21 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.  Students were safely evacuated while deputies searched the campus.  No device was found and students were allowed to return to class after the search was completed.  The investigation into the incident has resulted in the arrest of two juveniles, both students, allegedly responsible for the threat.  One suspect was charged with Conspiracy/Communication of false information/planned bombing on school property.  The second suspect was charged with Conspiracy/Communication of false information/planned bombing on school property and Communicating of false information of planned bombing on school property.  Both are being held in Green Oaks Detention Center.   We would like to thank the staff at West Ouachita for their help by safely evacuating the students, along with the students themselves for doing so in an orderly manner.   We would especially like to thank the student’s parents for their understanding and patience during the incident.
