Suspect Arrested in Calhoun Burglary Investigations

Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a prowler complaint at 4:15 a.m. September 4, 2018 at a residence on Highway 151 in Calhoun.  During a search of the immediate area, Deputies located the suspected prowler.

Samuel Clayton Shirley III, age 29 of Calhoun, was arrested near the scene for Simple Trespassing. Following this arrest of Shirley, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Investigators were able to connect him to recent burglaries committed in the Calhoun area, based on physical evidence developed from the crime scenes.  Shirley has been booked on an additional five counts of Simple Burglary and is being held at OCC.

The Investigation is continuing and more charges are possible.
