Shooting on Old Arkansas Road

At approximately 0252 hours on Sunday, November 11, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 100 block of Old Arkansas Road in West Monroe in reference to a shooting. Deputies arrived at the scene to find that a white male victim had been shot multiple times. Emergency personnel attempted to render aid to the victim but he expired at this location.

Evidence indicated that the victim, Corey Hunter Todd, 34, of West Monroe and the suspect, Sean Michael Vines, 28, of West Monroe had been involved in a physical altercation at the Old Arkansas Road location. Witness testimony confirms that Vines produced a handgun and shot the victim. He also pointed this handgun at two witnesses threatening them. In a statement from Vines, he indicated that he armed himself when the victim arrived. Vines and witnesses stated that this incident stems from Vines dating Todd’s ex-girlfriend.

Sean Michael Vines was arrested and charged with one count of 2nd Degree Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault. He was booked into OCC.
