Sheriff Russell and the OPSO Mounted Patrol Recognize Retiring Member

PressReleaseThe Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol held its annual Christmas Dinner Thursday evening, December 15th. In addition to celebrating the Christmas season, members were recognized for their years of service in the unit.  Special recognition was given to Deputy Bobby Williams as he is retiring.  Dy. Williams was given a plaque recognizing his eleven years of service to the Mounted Patrol.

The unit is comprised of volunteers that donate their time and equipment to assist the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office in serving the citizens of Ouachita Parish.  The unit provides manpower to work athletic events, parades, outdoor events and similar functions that attract large crowds.  So far this year, the unit has contributed 431 man hours working these type events.
