PRESS RELEASE – TRUANCY ENFORCEMENT

Ouachita Parish schools are scheduled to open soon.  State law mandates students attend regularly assigned classes during regular school hours.  Students that do not attend or that are tardy will receive disciplinary action.  Parents that allow this behavior by their children can be charged with the crime of truancy.  Sheriff Russell, along with the other parish officials listed, have published the flyer below in an effort to be sure both parents and students understand what is required and consequences of truant behavior.
