Ouachita Sheriff’s Investigators Arrest Suspect in Auto Theft and Car Burglaries

PressReleaseOuachita Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported auto theft in western Ouachita Parish on August 12, 2015.  Investigation revealed someone had stolen a 2008 Saturn Outlook from the location.  The information on the stolen vehicle was disseminated to other law enforcement agencies.  Later the same evening, the vehicle was stopped and recovered by the Mangham, LA Police Department.  The driver, William Morgan Cain, age 20, of West Monroe, was also found to be in possession of a stolen handgun from a previous vehicle burglary in Ouachita Parish.  Cain was taken into custody by Mangham authorities and booked in the Richland Parish Detention Center for Possession of Stolen Property.  Subsequent investigation by OPSO Investigators revealed Cain was allegedly involved in several prior vehicle burglaries that occurred in Ouachita Parish.  Cain is currently being held in the Richland Parish Detention Center.  Ouachita Sheriff’s Investigators have placed a detainer on him for 1 ct. of Theft of a Motor Vehicle and 11 cts. of Simple Burglary of a Vehicle.  Cain will be booked in OCC on these charges once released from Richland Detention Center.
