Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Offers Ladies Self Defense Course

Sheriff Jay Russell invites the ladies of Ouachita Parish to attend a three session self-defense course beginning August 18, 2016 and continuing on August 25^th and September 1^st. The hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each night.  The class will take place at the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Range located at 357 Sheriff Richard Fewell Road in West Monroe, LA. Directions to the range are located on the OPSO web site under the Range Tab.

The course will consist of situational awareness, grab defense, ground defense, head lock defense, and surviving multiple attackers. This course will require a level of physical fitness in order to complete the exercises. For questions contact Sgt. Chris Jerkins at 318-410-2422

The class is limited to 30 attendees.  You must be at least 18 to attend.

Applications may be printed and returned to the Sheriff’s administrative office located at 400 Saint John Street Monroe, LA.  A waiver of liability will be signed on the first night of class.
