Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Major Jason Pleasant Graduates FBI Academy

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that Major Jason Pleasant, a 24 year law enforcement veteran, has graduated from the 272nd session of the FBI’s National Academy Program in Quantico, VA.  Major Pleasant graduated in June after successfully completing 10 weeks of advanced investigative, leadership, management and fitness training. Pleasant was in a class of 232 officers from law enforcement agencies in 48 states, 25 international countries, 5 military organizations and 7 federal civilian organizations. The training instructors consist of FBI Academy staff, Special Agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.

Sheriff Jay Russell, himself a graduate of the 211th session of the FBI National Academy, knows firsthand the benefits of the FBI program.  “While the training offered by the Academy is recognized as most advanced available, the personal and professional contacts he made with officers from all over the world will prove to be very valuable during his career” said Sheriff Russell. The Sheriff continued, saying “Major Pleasant will share his experiences and training with other members of our department that in turn will further enhance our ability to serve the citizens of Ouachita Parish.”
