OPSO Searching for Suspect Involved in Shooting Incident

UPDATE:  Gix has been arrested on warrants charging him with Att. 2nd Degree Murder, Poss. of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Second Degree Battery and Theft.

On June 1, 2016, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported shooting on Slater Drive in Monroe.  The investigation determined the victim had received several gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  OPSO Investigators are now looking for the suspect, Gregory Gix, Jr., of Monroe, in connection with the shooting. He is described as a Black male, age 26, 6’2” tall and weighs 213 lbs.

Gix is a convicted felon and considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with any information concerning the whereabouts of Gregory Gix, Jr. is asked to contact the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office at 318-329-1200.
