OPSO Mourns the Loss of Retired Sgt. Columbus Gray
Ouachita Parish Sheriff Jay Russell and Deputies are mourning the loss of retired Sgt. Columbus Gray.
Sgt. Gray passed away November 5, 2021. Prior to joining the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Gray served in the U. S. Army. He was employed by OPSO in 1975 where he served until he retired in 2000. He began his career in the Patrol Division, later transferring to the Investigative Division in 1981. During his employment, he also served in the Warrants Division and the Court Support Division.
Sgt. Gray was respected by his fellow deputies and will be missed. Please keep his family in your prayers during this time.
Funeral services for Sgt.Gray will be at the Greater New Antioch Baptist Church, 301 Sherrouse Street in Monroe on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Smith’s Funeral Home in Monroe from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
