OPSO Mourns the Loss of Retired Sergeant Eloy Washer

Sheriff Jay Russell and Deputies of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office are mourning the loss of retired Sergeant Eloy Washer.  Sgt. Washer passed away March 21, 2020.

After serving in the United States Army, he began his law enforcement career working as a deputy for and later retired from the Caldwell Parish Sheriff’s Office.  He also worked for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office in Corrections, where he retired with the rank of Sergeant, serving as a shift supervisor.

Sergeant Washer is remembered by those who knew and worked with him at the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office as someone they respected and that served as an excellent example of a loyal and dedicated law enforcement officer.  One of his biggest joys in life was coaching youth baseball and softball teams.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Cross Roads Baptist Church in Grayson, LA.  Please remember to keep his family in your prayers during their time of grief.
