OPSO Investigators Arrest Suspect in Child Pornography Investigation

UPDATE: Resulting from the ongoing investigation of this case, the suspect, John A. Carter, has been charged with an additional 1 ct. of Oral Sexual Battery and 1 ct. of Third Degree Rape.  This investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.

Acting on information received concerning alleged criminal activity including child molestation and several related crimes, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit began conducting an investigation and obtained a search warrant for a west Ouachita Parish residence. As a result, John A. Carter, Jr., age 53, West Monroe, has been arrested and booked in OCC on the following charges:

1 ct. Pornography Involving Juveniles-Production

1 ct. Pornography Involving Juveniles-Distribution

1 ct. Pornography Involving Juveniles-Possession

2 cts. First Degree Rape

2 cts. Oral Sexual Battery

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
