OPSO Hosts CMP Match July 22nd, 2017 at the Rifle Range

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Public Rifle Range will be hosting a Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) rifle match July 22, 2017 at the range. Please note due to the warming temperatures, we want to get the match started as soon as possible. Therefore, ALL SHOOTERS need to arrive no later than 7:30 for sign – in and target placement. We will do our best to start the match at 8:00 sharp.  All shooters are required to bring a notarized Eligibility Affidavit and Liability Agreement Form (a copy can be printed from the CMP.org website online). Shooters are required to furnish their own rifle, either vintage or modern military type, and can only enter one.  Rifles are to be equipped with open sights only and cannot have any accuracy work done to the rifle.  The course requires 35 rounds of ammunition (supplied by the competitor) and consists of 5 rounds for sight fire, 10 rounds slow fire prone, 10 rounds rapid fire from standing to prone, and 10 rounds slow fire standing.  The match registration fee is $15.00 and the match is limited to 32 shooters.
