OPSO Deputy Saves a Toddler’s Life

On 9/2/3, Deputy Rodney Pagans was on an investigation in the 600 Block of Smith St. in West Monroe, LA. While there, a mother came outside holding her 2 year old girl who was choking on an unknown object, disabling her from breathing. Deputy Pagans took the child from the mother and performed a maneuver dislodging a glass marble enabling the toddler to breathe again. AMR was called to the scene to checked the toddler and then released her back to her mother.

Sheriff Jay Russell would like to commend Deputy Pagans for his quick action in rendering aid to help save a child’s life.
