OPSO Deputy Recognized by Ouachita Green

Dy. Richard Elam, a 14 year veteran with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, was recently the recipient of the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award by Ouachita Green, a volunteer group committed to keeping Ouachita Parish clean and protecting the environment. Dy. Elam is assigned to the Code Enforcement Unit of the OPSO and enforces code regulations regarding litter and waste dumping. He received the award based on the number of cases he found in violation over the past calendar year. “We are very proud of the accomplishments of Dy. Elam and the Code Enforcement Unit’s success keeping our parish clean” said Sheriff Jay Russell.
