OPSO Arrests Three Suspects for Vehicle Burglaries

The investigation into recent vehicle burglaries by Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Investigators has led to the arrest of three suspects.

Dakota Hodge, age 18 of Monroe, has been arrested on numerous Simple Burglary charges and placed in OCC.   The other two suspects are both juveniles and have been charged with Simple Burglary and placed in Green Oaks Detention Center. Their identities cannot be released. More arrests and additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.

OPSO Patrol Deputies initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle occupied by the suspects that matched the description of one used in attempted vehicle burglaries in the Sylvan Lakes Subdivision recently.

Further investigation stemming from the traffic stop revealed all three suspects had committed multiple vehicle burglaries in the following locations in Ouachita Parish:

A large quantity of stolen items, including five handguns, has been recovered.

Sheriff Russell reminds residents to remove all valuables such as purses, handguns, etc. from their vehicles when unattended to help prevent becoming a burglary victim.
