OPSO Arrests Suspect in Investigation of Recent Business Burglaries

Late Saturday evening, May 27th, OPSO Patrol Deputies responded to a report of suspicious persons seen near a West Monroe business in the Claiborne area on Highway 80.  When deputies arrived, two suspects were observed fleeing the business.  After a brief pursuit, one of the suspects was apprehended; identified as Ricky Patrick, Jr., age 25 of Monroe.  Further investigation by OPSO Investigators determined Patrick allegedly was involved in committing several recent business burglaries currently investigated by the Sheriff’s Office that occurred in the Claiborne area, Highway 165 North in Monroe and the LA 139 area in Swartz & Lakeshore.  He also had burglarized the business he was apprehended fleeing from.  Patrick has been booked in OCC on four cts. Of Simple Burglary, one ct. of Motor Vehicle Theft and one count of Illegal Carrying of a Weapon.  The investigation is continuing. More arrests and additional burglary charges are pending.
