OPSO Arrests Suspect Caught in Act of Stealing Hunting Equipment

OPSO Patrol Deputies responded to a report of a subject possibly stealing a deer feeder and game camera from a location in a wooded area near Ole Highway 15 in West Monroe Tuesday morning, August 21st.  Deputies searched the wooded area and located the suspect in the act of stealing the equipment. He was found to be in possession of the stolen feeder, the camera and a stolen tree stand.  Kevin M. Cupp, age 21 of West Monroe, was arrested at the scene.

Further investigation by OPSO Investigators determined the suspect was also in possession of a pond boat and a canoe, both previously reported stolen to OPSO.

Cupp has been booked in OCC on a total of 3 counts of Simple Theft and 1 count of Illegal Possession of Stolen Goods stemming from the investigation.  All of the stolen items were recovered.  The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible.
