Investigation Into the Burglaries of Convenience Stores Leads to Arrest of Two Suspects

A joint investigation by Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators and investigators from Richland, Lincoln and Caldwell Sheriff’s Offices has led to the arrest of two suspects in a series of convenience store burglaries that have occurred recently in all 4 parishes.

Richard Wayne Craig, age 58 of West Monroe has been arrested by Ouachita Parish Investigators. He is charged with 5 cts. of Simple Burglary, 1 ct. of Attempted Burglary, 1 ct. Possession of CDS I (Marijuana) and 1 ct. Possession of CDS II (Methamphetamine) stemming from the store burglaries in Ouachita Parish.  A search warrant executed on the suspects West Monroe residence yielded items taken from some of the burglaries. Craig is currently being held in OCC on the charges.

Evidence developed during the investigation led to the arrest of a second suspect, James Mitchell Cobb, Jr., age 64 of West Monroe. Cobb has been charged with 3 cts. of Simple Burglary.  Cobb is also currently being held at OCC on the charges.  The investigation is continuing and more charges are expected.
