Uniform Patrol Division
The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division is under the direction of Major Mike Moore and Administrative Captain Buddy Aulds. This division has 120 deputies with combined service time of approximately 1060 years of experience. There are a total of 80 patrol units assigned to this division, which includes 60 take-home units and 20 pool units.
The Uniform Patrol Division is made up of Patrol Deputies, School Resource Officers, Truancy Deputies, Communications, K-9 Deputies, and the Special Crimes Apprehension Team (SCAT).
The Uniform Patrol street deputies are divided into 4 shifts that consist of approximately 17 deputies per shift, including 3 K-9 Officers that are assigned night shifts. Patrol deputies are responsible for patrolling our parish and answering calls for service for the public 24/7. There is also a full-time Desk Sergeant that is available to assist with the daily walk-in complaints and calls that can be handled over the phone. On average, these deputies answer approximately 1,344 calls for service per week.
