Combined Law Enforcement Agencies Efforts Lead to Felony Arrest

The CenturyLink PSA video released last Friday sends the message that law enforcement agencies in Ouachita Parish continually work together, sharing the common goal to best serve and protect citizens of Ouachita Parish.

This message played out in real life Sunday, August 12th, 2018.  Ouachita Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported home invasion Sunday afternoon on Elmwood Drive in Monroe.

Deputies learned that the victim had previously left her residence and upon returning, discovered a door had been forced open. Upon her entering the residence, she was confronted by the suspect armed with a handgun and standing in the living room.  The suspect then fled on foot and was followed a short distance by the victim.  The victim was able to give a description of the suspect and neighbors were able to give deputies a general direction of travel.  OPSO contacted Monroe Police Department asking for K-9 assistance to track the suspect.  The MPD K-9 unit responded immediately and was able to successfully track the suspect, leading to his apprehension within a few blocks of the victim’s residence.  He was still armed at the time of his arrest and the items taken in the invasion were in his possession.

Dominque Deshawn Hall, age 25 of Monroe, was arrested and booked in OCC for one count of Home Invasion. The investigation is continuing.

“This is a great example of our message that we as local law enforcement work closely together to bring criminals to justice in Ouachita Parish” said Sheriff Russell. “We are proud of the hard work of the Deputies and Police Officers involved working together and quickly apprehending the suspect.”

The victim was not injured.
