Attempted 2nd Degree Murder Arrest

On April 15, 2013 the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to a residence at 2000 Evans Avenue, Monroe. The initial investigation revealed that the suspect, Eric Benjamin, 43yo, had crashed a vehicle into the residence in an effort to strike a male victim. Benjamin struck the residence twice injuring a male victim and his mother.

This incident stemmed from an earlier confrontation that occurred at the suspect’s residence at 610 Oregon Trail where Benjamin had struck the male victim in the head with an unknown object.

Deputies later located Benjamin at his residence after he fled the scene on Evans Avenue. Benjamin was arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center for 2 counts of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder with a $1,000,000.00 total bond.

Both victims were treated for minor injuries and released.
