Armed Robbery Investigation at Waffle House in Monroe

An investigation into an Armed Robbery of an individual has resulted in the arrest of 4 Monroe teens. Shortly after 5am on 4/14/13, deputies responded to the parking lot of the Waffle House, 8305 Desiard Street, Monroe, LA, in reference to a male victim being beaten and robbed.

Initial testimony indicated that William Smith, 18yo, Leantwan Fobbs, 18yo, and the victim went to the restaurant to eat when they were approached in the parking lot by two armed suspects. The suspects then allegedly pistol whipped the victim and took money from all 3.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Smith and Fobbs led the victim to this location with knowledge that he would be robbed. David Walker, 18yo, and Jamalcolm Griffin, 19yo, were identified as the suspects that produced handguns and committed the armed robbery and beating.

Walker, Griffin, Fobbs and Smith have been booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center for Armed Robbery and Conspiracy to commit Armed Robbery. The victim received medical treatment for head injuries and was released.
