School Resource Officer

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers are commissioned law enforcement officers that are assigned to all public high schools in Ouachita parish on a full-time basis.

These deputies conduct routine patrols of the school’s campus, both inside and out. The participate in designing Crisis Response plans and programs, and conduct school safety assessments. They attempt to collect and analyze intelligence related to possible school threats, as well as being a liaison with the local youth and juvenile courts. The deputy is also a mentor, role model, encourages positive work habits, and has high moral standards.
